For deferrals received on or before the census dates (listed below) for each study period, a full refund of fees will be payable to students. No refund of fees is payable for deferrals received after these dates. The full fee is payable on re-enrolment in a deferred unit.
CENSUS DATES:
For enrolments in Study Period 1, 2008 - 31 March 2008
For enrolments in Study Period 2, 2008 - 29 August 2008
For enrolments in Study Period 3, 2008 – 1 December 2008.
Please note all fees (where applicable) will be refunded. No fees will be transferred to a future study period. Refunds are payable via the same method as the enrolment fees for that study period were paid, however please note that we are unable to refund via bank cheque or bank draft for any students or Electronic Funds/Wire Transfer for overseas students.
All deferrals will be confirmed in writing by Chifley Business School within 3 weeks. A new assignment and sample examination will be issued, unless the study material has been revised in which case a completely new study guide will be issued.
Deferral of a unit must be made in writing. Students wishing to defer must complete the deferment application form. Deferment Application Form.
Deferment applications will not be accepted after;
27 June 2008 - Study Period 1 2008
21 Nov 2008 - Study Period 2, 2008
23 Feb 2009 - Study Period 3, 2008
Please read below if you accessed FEE-HELP to ensure you understand your financial obligations in relation to deferring.
A student may apply for a deferred examination if they are unable to attend the examination on the designated date and/or time due to extenuating circumstances. All requests are treated individually and must be made in writing to Chifley Business School. Supporting documentation, e.g. medical certificate, must be attached. Deferred examination applications will not be considered without supporting documentation. Deferred examinations are only granted under extreme circumstances.
Deferred examinations are only available to students who meet the following criteria:
If granted, the examination MUST be taken in the following study period's examination period, and the assignment mark will be carried over to the following study period. Further study guides, assignments etc. are not provided. All confirmations of deferred examinations are made in writing. Students who wish to apply for a deferred examination must complete the Deferment Application Form and submit it to the Client Care Centre prior to the examination, where possible. To be considered, applications made after the examination must be received within 7 days of exam.
If you do not intend to re-enrol in a unit, or wish to withdraw from the program, you will need to complete the Withdrawal Application Form after reading below. Withdrawal Application Form.
If study in a unit cannot be continued in a study period, but you may take up the unit again, we recommend deferring from that unit, (see above).

It is requested that students who withdraw return their undamaged, unmarked study material to the Chifley Client Care Centre.
