The information on this page relates to the submission and requirements of your assignment.
All units require an assignment to be submitted. The assignment questions are included with the study guides. Some useful guidelines regarding the preparation of assignments are included in the Managing Your Study Booklet.
Assignments are to be submitted by all students for all units. Only students who have been granted a deferred examination are exempt from submitting an assignment in the following study period. If you are unsure please contact the Chifley Client Care Centre on 1300 853 377.
The purpose of the assignment is to:
With the exception of Unit 304 Business Planning for Innovation, assignments are worth 20%-40% and final examinations 60%-80%. This means that if you do not submit your assignment (say worth 20% of a unit) you will need to obtain 63% in the final exam to pass the unit (i.e. equivalent to 50 out of 80 marks).
Unit 304 has two assignments, the first worth 15% and the second worth 45%. The first assignment is due in the last week of March for Study Period 1 and the last week of August for Study Period 2. You must pass the assignment and exam component to pass this unit.
Three weeks after each due date (two weeks for Study Period 3), assignment commentary/answers from the unit chair will be posted on e-Communities for most units assignment. Marks and comments will be emailed directly to each student at this time.
Assignments for most units are due between weeks 9 and 13 of the study period. For a full list of assignment due dates click here.
Please ensure you are clear on how to reference your assignment for each unit. Failure to reference correctly could result in failure of your assignment or loss of marks. If you are unsure how to reference we recommend you check with your Unit Chair on their expectations, as they can differ from unit to unit, and review the information provided in the Managing Your Study booklet available on e-Communities or the Student Community Home Page.
