APESMA La Trobe MBA students — information on completion arrangements

APESMA/Chifley and La Trobe University have agreed, following a review that the joint APESMA La Trobe University Graduate Programs are to be phased out as of Study Period 1, 2007.

  1. back to top How will this impact on current students?
    There is no change for current students. La Trobe University will continue to confer awards jointly for students currently enrolled until the end of 2010, or a later date if there are continuing students who have not completed their studies by this time. La Trobe will continue to provide the service and support it currently provides to students enrolled in joint award programs and this will enable you to complete your program at the normal rate of progression.

  2. back to top Can I still choose to take out an early joint award?
    If you choose to take out an early joint award – i.e. a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma - and subsequently seek to complete a higher award – i.e. a Graduate Diploma or MBA - you will automatically be enrolled into the APESMA program.

    The only difference between the programs will be the insignia on the testamur on completion. All current practices and information for students will remain the same.

  4. back to top Will the fees be affected by the end of the partnership?
    The end of the partnership will not affect the price. The price may be adjusted according to CPI, and increasing cost of delivery as it has in the past.

  5. back to top Will we have the same units / unit chairs?
    Yes, the units and unit chairs will be the same for both programs, whether you are enrolled in the APESMA or APESMA La Trobe program you will be in the same e-community groups, undertake the same assessment, and will be marked by the same unit chairs.

  6. back to top Can I transfer from the APESMA La Trobe program to the APESMA MBA?
    If you are currently enrolled in the APESMA La Trobe award programs you have the opportunity to transfer directly into the APESMA MBA at any time with full credit for your partially completed studies.

  7. back to top Is the APESMA MBA award recognised?
    Yes, the APESMA MBA is an accredited award with the Department of Education and Training (Victoria). It will hold the same level of accreditation as any other postgraduate award.

  8. back to top Can students enrolled in the APESMA MBA have access to Fee Help?
    No, fee help is not available to any student who is enrolled into the APESMA MBA. Fee-Help will continue to be offered to those enrolled in the APESMA La Trobe MBA.
